While getting gasoline for a lawnmower . and not securing the nozzle. when i?

place the can on back of my mother car . if orgot and made a sharp turned and the majority of gasoline spilled ..where it spilled is like hard vinyl which lays ontop of spare tire. i took spare tire out and clearned the gasoline that splille and i used a auto shop degreaser. But the oderis realstrong still ofgas, anyone have a solution for me to get rid of the gas smell?
