Isn't my dad being a little unfair?

I'm almost 18 & 4 some reason my dad thinks he can still control me. My asthma has been acting up for the past few days & he says he's gonna make me mow the lawn 2morrow. What doesnt he understand about having trouble breathing?? I told him about it & he says he doesnt care. He wants me to do a bunch of work outside while he sits on his a** sleeping on the couch! & its not like he's sick or anything. I know mowing the lawn is just driving a lawnmower but the pollen count is high & i have seasonal allergies so that wouldnt do me any good with the way im already feeling. I told him i wanna apply for a job instead of doing all HIS work but he thinks it makes more sense to just do "chores" for him! Isnt turning 18 supposed to be about having more freedom?? Id like to be able to earn my own money.
