Lawnmower is broken probably...?

So i was mowing the lawn and the blades underneath caught something and stopped as soon as it hit the object. Now the lawn mower wont start again. any ideas of why it isnt starting? I try to restart it but it just doesnt work and used up gas comes from the side like it normally does. It sparks but doesnt start the lawn mower. is the engine broken? Are the pistons out of alignment? Please help
